COMPOSER
Peter read music at New College, Oxford and studied composition with Alan Ridout and James Wood. He founded the Ryedale Festival in 1980 and along side his work as Director of Music at the Royal Grammar School in Guildford, he has composed throughout his life. His choral Music has been performed extensively in the UK and abroad and has been recorded by the choirs of Christ Church and Trinity College, Oxford, the choir of St Thomas on the Bourne and The Trinity Boys Choir for whom he was commisioned to write an opera based on Moonfleet. His music has been broadcast on Classic FM and in November 2022, his opera Rosalind was performed at the National Opera Studio in London. In 2023 his Bass Trombone Concerto was premiered by James Buckle, principal trombone of The Philharmonia Orchestra and in 2024 his new childrens’ opera Hamelin will be given its first performance. ARTIST
Peter is a self taught artist and member of the Solva and St Davids art group. He has exhibited in Guildford House Gallery, St Davids City Hall and Oriel y Parc Gallery. In recent years he has found particular inspiration in the Pembrokeshire coast. In 2019 his submission for the London Pintar Rapido exhibition in Chelsea Old Town Hall was highly commended.
